The Technology Services Department is responsible for managing and supporting device and networking equipment throughout The Pinnacle. We work closely with administration in providing the technology vision for the future, giving recommendations for new technologies, and setting standards for hardware and software purchases. We strive to provide the best technology and support while following and promoting the Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA), and the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
The Pinnacle Understands that in today’s world, technology is a part of every aspect of life. As a result, it is our goal to stay on the cutting edge of technology to ensure that we stay competitive and that teachers and students have the tools and education that they need to be successful.
Enterprise Systems & Architecture
The Pinnacle’s computer and device technology is state-of-the-art. The core network servers are (insert appropriate information here). Our network backbone is a combination of fiber optic and CAT 6 cabling that transmits data at through-puts over a Gigabit per second. The Pinnacle’s wireless network is totally secure with 100% coverage throughout the campus.
We utilize an integrated CISCO systems IP phone system that links our multiple campus locations together under the latest communication technology. Our phone system provides secure communication campus-wide that is critical to student and staff safety.
All teachers have current computers with the latest Microsoft software, LCD projectors, and educational software. In addition, we have over 40 Promethean Interactive white boards throughout the campus which are used for instruction and demonstration purposes. Students have access to multiple current fiber linked computers labs with over 300 computers. Each lab has the latest Microsoft software and numerous other educational software programs.
The Pinnacle Charter School also boasts an impressive iPad initiative, with over 1,500 devices, to help support school curricular needs. The elementary school currently runs a 1:1 program, in which each student has an iPad to utilize, while our 6-12 student have cart-based units, shared among classes and content areas. In addition, all teachers are equipped with a current iPad the assist them in daily instruction.
Teachers and students also have ample access to cart-based laptops, thus assisting in promoting technology though education in an efficient, comprehensive way.
