In the event of serious inclement weather or other unforeseen event necessitating a school closure, Pinnacle Charter School uses a variety of resources to determine if conditions exist that warrant a closure of schools. The Pinnacle closely monitors ongoing weather reports, and reviews road conditions and recommendations from local and state law enforcement agencies and has school bus drivers and transportation personnel on the road monitoring conditions.
When schools are closed all scheduled activities in the school building are canceled, sports events and practices are postponed, and Cubs Den will be closed.
If schools are open but a parent feels, based on personal circumstances, that conditions pose a safety concern for their child getting to or from school they can call the school for an excused absence.
The school will make every effort to announce a decision by 5:30 a.m. if the school will be closed.
A school closure will be communicated in the following ways:
- Pinnacle School website at http://www.thepinnacleweb.org
- Email and text message to parents/guardians
- In order to receive text messages, opt-in by clicking on receive text messages on the Parent Portal
- Social media, including Facebook (Pinnacle Charter School) and Twitter (@PCSTimberwolves)
- Local media outlets
Keep in mind, parents will only receive alerts if schools are closed. If schools are open and operating on normal schedule, there will not be an alert.
Pinnacle Charter School is not a part of Adams 12 School District. If we close school we will be listed separately in local media.
