This school year, the Pinnacle Charter Elementary School is pleased to offer three tutoring programs for students from kindergarten through 5th grade. All tutoring programs are FREE of charge to Pinnacle families. Students were selected based on assessment scores that indicated they would benefit from more targeted, intensive reading and/or math instruction.

The purpose of Supplemental Educational Services (SES) is to:
·    Increase the academic achievement in reading/language arts or mathematics of eligible students as measured by the State's assessment system and increase the English proficiency of Non-English and Limited English Proficient students (NEP/LEP) as measured by ACCESS and;
·    Enable these students to attain proficiency in meeting the state academic achievement standards.

Tutoring is offered in the following areas:

Imagine Learning with Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Silva
Research has proven that students who participate in the Imagine Learning program regularly show significant gains in their reading skills. The program features 500 engaging activities that target Foundational Skills, Literature and Language while engaging with a variety of texts. Tutors work closely with students in small groups to monitor progress and share data results with parents.
Tutoring will only be held on regularly scheduled school days and will run promptly from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 10, 2016, through March 10, 2017. For kindergartners, tutoring will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Moby Max Mrs. Villarreal and Mr. Damon
Moby Max finds and fixes missing math skills that are essential for math comprehension. Students working at least 40 hours in Moby Max show a 1.4 grade level increase on average. It is a comprehensive curriculum for kindergarten through 5th grade. Moby Max is so effective because students do not waste time practicing material they have already mastered. Instead, Moby Max targets areas where students are struggling. It allows students to progress immediately once mastery is achieved.
Moby Max tutoring sessions will only be held on regularly scheduled school days and will run promptly from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 10, 2016, through March 10, 2017.

SRA Reading Lab with Mr.O’Donnell and Mrs. Lamont
SRA engages students’ interests with community, reward, and game features. This program challenges students with complex text, enhancing comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, word analysis, and study skills. SRA reinforces specific skills in which students show weaknesses and increases students’ knowledge base using a variety of fiction and nonfiction selections at their own reading levels.
Tutoring will only be held on regularly scheduled school days and will run promptly from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 10, 2016, through March 10, 2017.
